...annnd we're back!
Disneyland was insane. The good kind of insane, not the straitjacket kind. I laughed. I cried. I ate chocolate and caramel covered marshmallows on a stick. This park is completely synonymous with "my happy place." Sure, tropical destinations are cool too, but Mickey > beach (most days at least). Here's the recap. Mostly in pictures because I'm
lazy cool like that.
Thursday: Worked. Drove for hours. Watched live Royal Wedding coverage when we got to our hotel. We were exhausted, but I'm into fairy tales. ;)
Friday: The big 2-5. Opened the gift my sister sent with me. Had a blast at Disneyland and California Adventure. Wore a "Happy Birthday" button and felt special.

Sunglasses with a bow on the side. Cutest ever. Thanks sis! |

Oh hey Walt. |

"California, California...Here we cooomme" |
Saturday: More Disneyland magic. Wore a "Happy Anniversary" button and felt special again. Ate the best tacos in Downtown Disney. Continued my love/hate relationship with Hollywood Tower of Terror. Bought a Jack Skellington caramel apple.

Went from "happy to see this building" to...
|
|
"holy crap. Get me out of here!"
|
|
Bye Disneyland. =( |
Sunday/Monday: Bask in the sadness that comes from leaving Mickey behind. Celebrate two years of marriage with Thrifty ice cream. It's what we do.

Sunbeams. |

Pistachio and Chocolate Malted Crunch. Love. |
Where is your happy place?
Hi Vanessa!! Looks like you had a blast! How can you not have a good time at Disneyland! The weather was perfect down here!! So many fun things to do and yummy things to eat! Glad you had a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Happy Anniversary! 2 years!! Awesome! My husband and I just got married in October! Any good marriage advice?
Random question, where are you from?
Thanks Joanna! Maybe I'll do a "Marriage Advice from a Newbie" post soon. I definitely don't know everything, but there are little tidbits of info I've picked up. =)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful trip! I haven't been to Disney as an adult but I'm absolutely dying to go!!
ReplyDelete:)
It looks like you had an awesome trip!! I love your outfit in that second picture :-) Great boots!
ReplyDeleteMy happy place is New York, or the camp where I grew up.
I cannot wait to go to Disney again. I honestly think it's better than the beach for a vacation too. So much fun!!! Looks like you had a great time.
ReplyDelete@Vanessa: Do it! Mickey is waiting. =)
ReplyDelete@Jolene: Thanks. They're Forever 21 boots I picked up for about $22. I don't expect them to last much longer, but I guess that's what I get for buying cheap shoes! And I'd love to visit NY one of these days! =)
@Tina: I did! One of my dreams is to go to Disney World -- we're already planning our trip, and that's about three years away! =)
